He was predeceased by: his parents, David Owen Smoot and Gladys Roberta Smoot; and his siblings, Jerry Smoot, Linda Buraker and Brenda Gosling.
He is survived by: his wife Terri Jackson Smoot; his daughters, Kelsey Gold Smoot and Hailey Owen Smoot; his siblings, Stevie Smoot, John Randy Caylor, Doris Batiste and Tina Caylor; and his pets, Shannon, Flynn and Clancy. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
