He was predeceased by: his father John Kenneth Tate; and his daughter Lynn Marie Tate Dillingham. He is survived by: his wife Rosa Lee Clatterbuck Tate; his son Chris Tate of Boulder; his brother John Ray Tate (Biancia) of Lynchburg; and his grandchildren, Lyndsey C. Dillingham and Peyton T. Dillingham.
