She was predeceased by: her parents, Bledsoe Lee and Jennis Maude Estes (King); her former husband Richard Alphonso Brown; her husband John James Johnson; her daughters, Carolyn Jean Morris and Peggy Ann Hoylman; and her brother Donald Estes.
She is survived by: her sons, Roy J. Brown (Linda) of Ruckersville, Roger Lee Brown (Brenda) of Charlottesville, Richard A. Brown (Debbe) of Rockwell and Thomas Eugene Brown of Charlottesville; her brother Bledsoe Estes, Jr. of South Carolina; her stepbrother Charles Estes of Tenneesee; her grandchildren, Tina, Amy, Patti, Ricky Brown, Laura Chapman, Gloria Hoylmman, Theresa Lynn Shifflett, Cherrie Morris Jackson, Kerry, Nicki, Sabrina Morris, Wayne, Kenny and Gordon Wright; her friend Oscar Farris; and her pets, Bear and Meow Meow. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren.
