It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dawna Lea Sturges of Ruckersville, Virginia, born in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, who passed away on February 13, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilbert Brand and Ferne Patterson Brand; her stepmother Amanda Miller Brand; her sister Geneva Blankenhorn; and her brother-in-law John Del Fiugo.
She is survived by: her husband Ray; her sons, Paul (Lisa) and Mark (Stephanie); her grandchildren, Maria, Reagan, Farrah, Ryan, Luke and Payson; and her sisters, Zee Del Fiugo, Martha Rudy (Paul) and Judy Douglas. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and other family members.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hill and Wood Funeral Home - Charlottesville Chapel (201 1st St S, Charlottesville, VA 22902). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the First Baptist Park Street (735 Park St, Charlottesville, VA 22902). Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (735 Park St, Charlottesville, VA 22902). A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Quantico National Cemetery (18424 Joplin Rd, Triangle, VA 22172).
