We are sad to announce that on July 29, 2021, at the age of 79, Alberta Gurley of Ruckersville, Virginia, born in Charlottesville, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, William S. Shifflett and Edith M. Shifflett; and her siblings, William, Joseph, James Shifflett and Irene S. McRay.

She is survived by: her son Scott Gurley; her daughter-in-law Sophia Gurley; her grandson Joseph Willis; and her sisters, Anna Wood and Dorothy Gibson. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

The family would like in lieu of flowers donations be made to Hospice of the Piedmont and the Charlottesville ASPCA.
