He was predeceased by: his parents, Jimmy Ray Simmons and Ann Proctor Byrd Simmons; and his father-in-law Dale Martin. He is survived by: his wife Gloria Simmons; and his children, Teddy Cole (Diana) of Manassas, William Robert Garner of Rowe, Anthony Simmons of Princeton, Christina Simmons of West Virginia and Emma Ray Lantz of Mechanicsville. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and several brothers and sisters.
