He was predeceased by: his parent Bernie; his stepfather William Forsythe; and his siblings, Richard McDermott and Barbara McDermott Platter. He is survived by: his wife Karen Locklear; his children, Sean McDermott (Sara) of Richmond, Virginia and Kellie Koptish (Ryan) of Purcellville, Virginia; his grandchildren, Keira, Caleb, Aidan and Conor; and his brothers-in-law, Michael Locklear (Patti) of Allen and Daniel Locklear (Susan) of McKinney. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
