With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Margaret Steppe Steele of Roseland, Virginia, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Margaret Steppe left this world on February 12, 2025 at the age of 95, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Dallas David Steppe and Eunice Marie McRoy Steppe; her sons, Carlton Dale Smith and Everett Darius Smith; her stepson J. T. Steele; her grandson Jerry Cook; and her siblings, Mildred Hill, Pauline Keith, James Steppe, Doris Patton, Dona Steppe and Robert Steppe.
She is survived by: her children, Dianne Smith Cook (Tommy) of Appomattox, John Andrew Smith III (Sharon) of Roseland and Doris Smith Pennington (Roy) of Rustburg; her grandchildren, Dwayne Cook, Terry Cook and Brittany Pennington; her stepchildren, Wanda Steele of Cary, NC, Mike Steele of Rustburg, Cheryl Steele of Rustburg and Greg Steele (Janet) of Rustburg; her close friends, Sarah Courtney and Helen Nay; and her sisters-in-law, Sally S. Booth of Concord, Hazel Williamson of Rustburg, Elaine Steele of Rustburg and Brenda Steele (William "Bro") of Rustburg. She is also survived by two nieces and three nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Robinson Funeral Home (667 Court St, Appomattox, VA 24522).
