He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Frank and Dorothy Honaker Dye; his wife Hazel Virginia Hess Dye; his daughter-in-law Kathy Dye; and his siblings, Paul Dye (Frances), Clarence William Dye (Hazel), James Frank Dye (Ann), Carl Samuel Dye and Ruby Ann Newberry.
He is survived by: his children, Bobby Lee Dye of Rosedale, Connie Sue Hess (Michael Sullivan) of Rosedale and Loretta Lynn Taylor (Donald "Tooter") of Rosedale; his grandchildren, Jason Hess (Kelli), Misty Hale (Charles), Sonya Smith (Kenny) and Amanda Taylor; and his great grandchildren, Baileigh, Carlie, Damian, Miley, Kamdyn, Ashlyn, Liam and Kaziah. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
