He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lester and Carrie Blankenship Lester; his wife Emma Hess Lester; his son Johnny Lester; his grandson Brandan Lester; and his siblings, Walker Lester, Mattie Marshall, Ruth Marshall, Eila Mae Helbert, Della Lester, Beulah Reynolds and Eula Whited (Sis).
He is survived by: his sons, Jerry Lester (Connie) of Pounding Mill, VA and Junior Lester (Wanda) of Richlands, VA; and his stepdaughter Shirley Cordle of Richlands, VA. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
