She was predeceased by: her parents, Bascom Smith and Evelyn Shreve Smith; her brother Harold Bascom Smith; and her brother-in-law Robert "Bob" Lester. She is survived by: her husband Elder Robert H. Whitt; her son Dr. Ricky Bishop of Augusta, GA; her stepchildren, Joe Whitt of Bristol, VA and Kathy Moore of Richlands, VA; and her sisters, Shirley Lester of Pounding Mill, VA and Ginger Dale (Philip) of Pounding Mill, VA.
As a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic and the Commonwealth of Virginia Mandate, only 25 people are allowed at one time in the funeral home. Facial coverings and social distancing are required at all times.
