He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Howerton and Mary Alice Cheek Howerton; his sister Doshie Almedia Howerton; and his grandparents, Steven Howerton, Lena Hancock, Mary and Will Cheek.
He is survived by: his son Daniel Howerton of Sneedville, TN; his grandson Shadow Howerton of Sneedville, TN; his siblings, Jake Howerton (Tammy) of Rose Hill, VA and Lydia Lovell of Mooresburg, TN; his uncle Paul David Hancock (Donna) of Rogersville, TN; and his aunt Gladys Young of Rogersville, TN.
