He was predeceased by: his parents, H. C. Edds (Junior) and Beulah Munsey Edds; his brother James L. Edds; his uncle Obie D. Edds; and his aunts, Wilma E. Fletcher, Stella M. Trent and Dorothy M. England.
He is survived by: his sister Kay E. LaFountaine; his brother-in-law Chet LaFountaine; his nieces, Kim Milner (Todd), Holly Shetty (Ameet) and Jennifer LaFountaine (Jay Campellone); his nephew Todd Edds (Gina); his aunt Neva Rea Edds; and his sister-in-law Mary W. Edds. He is also survived by five great nieces and one great-nephew.
