Opal Emogene Saylor Obituary
Opal Emogene Saylor, 95, of Rose Hill, VA passed away on Friday, March 30, 2023 at her home.
She was born in Rose Hill on December 22, 1927, to the late Henderson and Maude (Fee) Osborne. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Clyde Saylor, eight siblings, Grant Osborne, Lawrence Osborne, Robert Osborne, Nora Hensley, Lola Wilson, Eilene Shackelford, Verna Gilbert and Faye Willis.
Emogene worked for many years for Standard Register in Dayton, OH, before moving back home to Rose Hill. She was a long time member of McClure's Chapel United Methodist Church.
Emogene is survived by one son, Reid Saylor; special nephews and nieces, John Paul Shackelford, Nancy Shackelford, Stover Willis, Lawrence Ed Hensley, Jan Gray, Kaye Fairchild and Laura Mae Honaker; and a host of other nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, in Botners Grove Cemetery in Rose Hill with Rev. Bobby Howard officiating. Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery for services.
