He was predeceased by: his parents, White Hounshell and Virgie Pace Hounshell; and his siblings, Kenneth Kyle Hounshell, D. C. Hounshell and Evelyn Ayers.
He is survived by: his wife Judith Lawson Hounshell of Rose Hill, VA; his daughter Jessica Ann Wilson (James Matthew Wilson) of Wise, VA; his grandsons, James Andrew "Drew" Wilson and Evan Matthew Wilson; his mother-in-law Maymie Lawson; and his cousins, Dr. O. V. "Pete" DeBusk and Jerry Loftice. He is also survived by nieces and many special nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Jerry Hounshell Memorial College Scholarship Fund for Lee County Students at any Farmers & Miners Bank location, or mailed to Farmers and Miners Bank, 41526 West Morgan Ave, Pennington Gap, VA 24277.
