He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Henry and Ebbie Meeks; his brothers, Claude Meeks (Peggy), J. H. Meeks (Betty) and Donnie; his parents-in-law, Ben and Edith Mullins; his son-in-law Dr. James H. Rucker, Jr.; and his brothers-in-law, Michael Mullins and Bobby Hiatt.
He is survived by: his wife Ruby Meeks; his children, Kathy Rucker and Randy Meeks (Bea); his grandchildren, Simon Rucker (Amanda), Sarah Campbell (Kevin) and Christy Floyd (Steve); his great grandchildren, Eli, Anna Rucker, Brooklyn and Kennedy Floyd; and his sisters-in-law, Melva Hiatt and Kathy Prillaman.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Ebenezer Baptist Church.
