He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Wingfield (Melton) and Edith Wingfield (Mitchell); and his brother Rodney Wingfield. He is survived by: his daughter Jennifer; his son-in-law Jason Gammons; his grandson Silas Gammons of Bassett; his siblings, Durwood of Iva, SC, Randall (Penny) of Statesville, NC, Sabrina Biddle of Wilmington, NC and Stacey Johns (Andy) of Knightdale, NC; and his friend Rob Jones of Leland, NC.. He is also survived by eight nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount (665 S Main St, Rocky Mount, VA 24151). A memorial service was held on Wednesday, December 11th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Flora Funeral Chapel (665 S Main St, Rocky Mount, VA 24151).
