With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Florence Torrence of Rocky Mount, Virginia, who passed away on November 7, 2024 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Henry Davis and Mabel Brown Davis; her husband William "Bill" McClain Torrence, Sr.; her son William McClain "Mac" Torrence, Jr.; and her siblings, Elizabeth Nelms, Gilly Cogswell, Pattie White Davis, George Davis, William Davis, Mabel McCaughey, Mildred Lee, Lucy Berry and Rebecca Jackson.
She is survived by: her daughter Mary Torrence Guy; her children-in-law, Jay Guy of Mechanicsville, VA and Margaret Torrence of Sontag; her grandchildren, Davis Torrence (Jennifer), Elizabeth Torrence Woolson (Cooper) and Serina Guy; her great grandchildren, Anne McClain Woolson and Catherine Davis Woolson; her sister Veta Davis Woody of Colfax, NC; and her brother-in-law Marvin Torrence of Lynchburg, VA. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
