She was predeceased by: her husband Robert E. Short, Sr.; and her parents, John Burleson and Roxie Burleson. She is survived by: her daughters, Kathy Mergler (David), Lisa Emerling (William) and Kimberley Turner; her grandchildren, David Mergler, Jr., Tracy Morauske, Micheal Mergler, Tyler Emerling, Ethan Emerling, Lilly Emerling and James "Jet" Turner, Jr.; her great grandchildren, Lily, Brooklyn, David III, Maddox, Trason, Easton, Izabella and Banks; her sister-in-law Yvonne Burleson; and also Gail Short. She is also survived by brothers and one older sister.
