He is survived by: his wife Gloria; his daughter Rhonda Childress; his sisters, Roberta Smith, Jane Melton and Rose McLendon; and also, Margaret Harris, Jessie Stewardson, Frances Nuckols, Julia White and Susie Grant. He is also survived by his parents and 11 siblings.
