With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ann Hester Markey of Rockville, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 25, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, James Hester and Agnes Hester; and her siblings, Russell Hester, Jr., Lewis S. Hester and Dorothy H. Luck.

She is survived by: her husband James J. Markey; her son James R. Markey (Mary Theresa); her grandchildren, Stephen J. Markey and Jennifer L. Markey; and her sister Sarah Jane Hester. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Berea Baptist Church.
