William Painter Sr. Obituary
In loving memory of William Painter Sr. of Roanoke, Virginia, who departed this world on January 14, 2025 at the age of 90. William leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Verban Painter and Cletis Doran Painter; his wife Shelva Jean Sarver Painter; his son William "Will" Painter, Jr.; and his siblings, Janet East, Gloria Hudson, Jack Painter and Lewis Painter.
He is survived by: his daughters, Beth Jones (Melvin) and Amanda Painter; his grandson William "Bo" Painter, III (Kelsey); his great grandchildren, Greyson William Painter and Henry Michael Painter; his sisters, Rose Goode (Phillip) and Carolyn Franklin; and his daughter-in-law Ricki Painter. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Oakey's North Chapel. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Oakeys North Chapel.
In lieu of flower, the family asked memorial contribution be made in his honor to: Hollins Road Church of the Brethren, 2404 Hollins Road NE, Roanoke, VA 24012.
