He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Margaret Starkey and James Nathan Hunter; his children, Thomas, Kimberly, Mary Margaret and Benjamin; his brother James; and his grandchildren, Cora, Lena and Avery.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 24th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Oakey's Funeral Home (4257 Brambleton Ave, Cave Spring, VA 24018). A graveside service was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Fairview Cemetery (3300 Melrose Ave NW, Roanoke, VA 24017).
In lieu of flowers, the family would request donations be made to Shriners Children's Hospital at shrinerschildrens.org.
