He was predeceased by: his parents, Edmond Louis "Jack" Baker and Pauline Stanley Baker of Roanoke; and his brother Captain Jerry Louis Baker. He is survived by: his wife Judith Styne Baker; his children, Mary Taylor Baker-Neal of Richmond, Virginia, William Edmond Baker Jr. of Heath, Texas, Thomas Daniel Baker of Columbia, Maryland, Jason West of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Charles Justin West of Roanoke, Virginia and Erica G. Vigrass of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and his nieces, Carly Baker Chapman of Chapel Hill and Lyndsay W. Baker of Richmond, Virginia. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, three great nephews and two great nieces.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations in his name to the New Day Center of the Salvation Army.
