With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Lillie Mae Journiette of Roanoke, Virginia, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Lillie Mae left this world on January 15, 2025 at the age of 103, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Lillie Mae may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Pete Teal and Emily F. Leftwich; her husbands, Norvell Richardson and George Journiette, Sr.; her daughters, Lorraine Macklin (Robert Macklin, Sr.) and Shirley Hrobowski; her grandson Robert Macklin, Jr.; and her sons, Albert and Nathaniel Journiette. She is also survived by her two sons, numerous nieces and nephews, many grandchildren, a multitude of great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home & Crematory (1002 Moorman Ave NW, Roanoke, VA 24016). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
