He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Caldwell and Gladys Lucas Caldwell; and his brother Duane Caldwell. He is survived by: his wife Carol June Deeds Caldwell; his sons, Douglas L. Caldwell (Christine) and David A. Caldwell (Dawn); and his grandchildren, Chase A. Caldwell and Brianna Larkin Caldwell.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Simpson Funeral Home (5160 Peters Creek Rd, Roanoke, VA 24019). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to the Alzheimer's and Dementia Foundation or to Melrose Baptist Church.
