He is survived by: his daughters, Whitney Pierce Lawson of Roanoke, Victoria Anne Lawson of Richmond and Anne Taylor Moorefield (Jeff) of Orlando; and his siblings, Michael Kelly Lawson (Penney) of Houston and Deedy Lawson Mason (Buz) of Newport News.
