He is survived by: his wife Freda Richards; and his children, Bernice McCarty (John), Carol Hooper, John Richards Jr. (Lacy), David Matthew Richards (Sharron), Paula Chitwood and Donna Corvin (David). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
