He is survived by: his children, Richard Simmons, Ernest W. Jones III of Greensboro, NC and Christina J. Robinson (Ronnie); his grandchildren, William L. Jones of Franklin, TN, Kishauna Jones-Pitcock of Phoenix, AZ, Ernest W. Jones (Destiny), Michael W. Jones Jr. of Rocky Mt, VA, Kiyami Simmons, Makayla Simmons, Richard Simmons Jr. and Emanuel Simmons; his sisters, Alda J. (Michael), Landers of Westchester County, NY and Dr. Michelle Jones; his nephews, Michael Landers II of Christiansburg, VA and Bryan Young of Richmond, VA; his aunt Christine Jones; his daughter-in-law Christi Jones (Peter Young); and his cousins, Leo Taylor, Donald Terry, Ronald Terry, Larry Terry and Crayton Craig, Jr.. He is also survived by his family, and his first cousins were like brothers and sisters.
