He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Hlavaty Gaines; and his siblings, Yvonne Gaines, Teresa Gaines Spangler and Jayson Gaines. He is survived by: his parents, Eugene Gaines and Linda McCulley Gaines of Covington; and his daughters, Olivia Goode of Vinton and Jody Gaines Hlavaty of Roanoke. He is also survived by one sister; and a number of nieces and nephews.
