It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Cordelia Thompson of Roanoke, Virginia, born in Covington, Virginia, who passed away on August 3, 2024, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband James Schular Thompson; her parents, Tom Smith Sr. and Lola Hogan Smith; her brother Tom Smith; her son-in-law Billy Lipes; and her brother-in-law Ralph E. Lane.
She is survived by: her children, Joseph Clark of Goshen, Polly Thompson Fisher of Roanoke, Tracy Thompson of Roanoke, Angelia Thompson Lipes of Roanoke and Janice Thompson Gamez of Roanoke; her grandchildren, Daniel Jones Thompson, Emily Thompson Colon, Schyler Richardo Gamez and Samantha Marie Gamez; her great grandchildren, Tapanga Marie Colon and Lorena Gray Thompson; and her sister Ruth Smith Lane of Covington. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
