He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Christy and Opal Mae Duncan McCoy; his wife Barbara Jean McCoy; and his brother Larry W. McCoy. He is survived by: his siblings, Alvin A. McCoy (Pat), Charles R. McCoy (Tanya) and Linda M. Smith; his son Jacob L. Dowdy; his grandson Austin D. Dowdy; and his sisters-in-law, Patricia McCoy, Linda Cook and Loretta Farley (Margaret Nester).
