He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara Jean Ohana Guthrie; his parents, William Arthur Guthrie and Mary Elizabeth Hetherington Guthrie; his siblings, Donald Guthrie and Ruth Blevins (Blevins); and his siblings-in-law, Allen Newberry and Margaret MacKenzie.
He is survived by: his children, Matthew Christopher Guthrie of New Braintree, Ogden Beauregard Guthrie (Susan Ann) of Staunton, Virginia, Heidi Guthrie of Canton and Virginia Futrell (Bobby) of Gray, Georgia; his grandchildren, Denny Guthrie of Staunton, Mikala, Savannah Guthrie of New Braintree Massachusetts, Tommy, Sam, Charlie Futrell of Gray, Frankie and Henry Diaz of Canton, Georgia; and his siblings, Alan Guthrie (Thez) of Ripplemead, Virginia, Elizabeth Newberry and Norma Newberry of Bland, Virginia..
While flowers are appreciated, the family request that memorial contributions be made in Barry's honor to St. Jude's Medical Research Center.
