He was predeceased by: his parents, Vann Daniel Burgess and Addie Mae Kelly Burgess. He is survived by: his spouse Dola Jones Burgess; his daughters, Barbara Jo "B. J." Burgess Farthing (Ronnie) of Sutherlin, VA, Kellie Burgess Duncan (Terry) of Ringgold, VA and Jennifer Burgess May (Thomas) of Ringgold, VA; his grandchildren, Brandi DeBaere (Andrew), Zachary Vann McDaniel (Briana), Daniel Duncan (Alex), Cheyanne Saunders (Dylan), Dakota McDaniel (Javion), Adam Duncan (Courtney), Claire Duncan and Gage May; and his great grandchildren, Devan, Declan, McKenlynn, Ryder, Rylie, Rhett, Christopher, Alyssa and Henry.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 30th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Ringgold Baptist Church (4594 Ringgold Church Rd, Ringgold, VA 24586). A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers the family suggest that memorial donations be made to Ringgold Vol.
