He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis Barksdale Chaney and Dorothy May Baggett Chaney; his wife Carolyn Jean; and his children, Danny Chaney and Brenda C. Gibson.
He is survived by: his children, Loretta C. George (Jeff) of Danville and Otis "T. J."; his siblings, Sallie C. Rice of Ringgold, Mary Jane Worley of Danville, Dorothy C. Pixley (Jesse) of Milton and Marvin R. Chaney (Linda) of Milton; his grandchildren, Donnie Chaney, Damien Gibson (Jessica Scearce) and Kinsley Chaney; and his close friend Scrappy.
The family is aware that there are many people who would like to attend Mr. Chaney's funeral, however, due to the constraints of public gatherings during the COVID-19 outbreak, there will be a private graveside held at Highland Burial Park with the Rev. Hughes Chaney and Rev. Darryl Joyce officiating.
