He was predeceased by: his parents, Gloria Hammock Dalton and Franklin Grey Dalton, Sr.; and his brothers, Joseph R. Dalton and Edward L. Dalton. He is survived by: his wife Nadine White Dalton; his children, Elizabeth Carter (Scott) of Ringgold, Virginia, Suzanne Dalton (Jonathan) of Ringgold and Ricky Dalton, Jr. (Raven) of Ringgold; his sister Vicky Frost of Ringgold; and his grandchildren, Alysa Lynn Dalton, Angelina Dalton and Nathan Blane Rice.
