She was predeceased by: her parents, Ephraim Henry Phillippe, Jr. and Tressa Snavely Phillippe; her husband John Lewis Whitfield, Jr.; and her son David Whitfield. She is survived by: her children, John L. Whitfield III (Karen) of Corolla, NC, Nancy K. Whitfield of Fredericksburg, VA and Jane W. Pratt (Ed) of Ringgold, VA; and her nieces, Ginny Laubinger (Lars), Susan Stewart (Bob) and Peggy Ireson (Bob). She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren.
