She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Granville Wright and Retha Fowler Wright; her husband Gilmer L. Smithers Jr.; and her siblings, Retha Dawson and Robert Wright.
She is survived by: her children, Kimberly S. Allen (Richard), Ricky W. Smithers, Larry Andrew Smithers (Sheila) and Robert L. Smithers (Arlene); her sister Joanne Nelson; and her niece Rhonda. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
