She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Thornton and Minnie Hollandsworth Thornton; her husband Robert Charles Miller; her son Kevin Charles Miller; and her siblings, Oden Thornton (Louise), Garnett Thornton (Margaret), Johnny Thornton, Diane Sheppard, Cleo Thornton McCoy (Jessie) and Curtis Thornton.
She is survived by: her daughter Charlene Miller Smith; her daughter-in-law Susan Miller; her grandchildren, Russell Smith (Jeana King), Cassie Winfrey (Cory), Shannon Denene Hannon (Peter), Stacie Smith, Michael Silcox, Vickie Griggs (Patrick), Melissa Miller (Larry Smith) and Bridget Miller (Bernie Epperly); her great grandchildren, Madison Tolle, Kinzi Winfrey, Raven Winfrey, Kahlan Winfrey, Jacob Miller, Hannah Epperly, Memphis Epperly, Mike Silcox, Austin Silcox, Hannah Silcox, Kesha Wills and Jeremiah Griggs; her siblings-in-law, Frank Sheppard and Barbara Thornton; and her friend Jean Peters. She is also survived by 5 great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 26th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the McCoy Funeral Home, Inc. (150 Country Club Dr SW, Blacksburg, VA 24060). A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 26th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel (150 Country Club Dr SW, Blacksburg, VA 24060).
