He was predeceased by: his parents, Herald Dean and Roxie Emma Hale Peters. He is survived by: his daughters, Ronda Hale and Jane Evelyn Peters; his son-in-law Jimmy Thomas; his children, Jean Thomas (Steve), Ruth Thomas, Rebecca Fugel (Billy), V. W. Peters, Jr. (Susan), Tim Peters (Sandy), David Peters (Karen), Daniel Peters (Lorrie), Arnold Peters (Tina) and Leslie Peters (Hope); and his sisters, Nellie Warren, Shirley Freeman (Tracy) and Susan Penn. He is also survived by twenty-one grandchildren, thirty-eight great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
