He is survived by: his wife Lois; his brothers, Gary Vandergrift of Roanoke, VA. and Allen Vandergrift (Mary) of Roanoke, VA.; his children, Wanda V. Mullins of Roanoke, VA, John J. Vandergrift (Diane) of Roanoke, VA and David W. Vandergrift (Lisa) of Elkton, VA.; and his stepchildren, Carlton Ashburn of York, SC, Mark Ashburn, Gail Ashburn and Tracey Shough of Martinsville, VA. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
