It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Russell McKinley Taylor (Ridgeway, Virginia), born in Fieldale, Virginia, who passed away on September 18, 2013, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward James Taylor and Bertha Wray Taylor; his wife Jettie Smith Taylor; and his siblings, Nellie Biggs, Eldean Bumpus, James "Jimmy" Taylor, Robert "Bobby" Taylor, Ralph Taylor, Otis Taylor, Calvin Taylor and Alfred Taylor.
He is survived by: his daughter Judy T. Alcorn (J. Haywood Alcorn) of Ridgeway, VA; his grandchildren, Patricia Dickerson (David), Cindy LaPrade (Dean) and John Alcorn (Judy); his great grandchildren, Matthew Alcorn, Sam, Zach Dickerson, Hannah and Sarah LaPrade; and his siblings, Reaves Taylor of Danville, VA, Beatrice Weddle of Cascade, VA and John Taylor (Bonita) of Eden, NC..
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Willis Memorial Baptist Church, 5212 Cascade Road, Cascade, VA 24069 or to Cascade Ruritan, 3458 Huntington Trail, Cascade, VA 24069.
