She was predeceased by: her parents, James Frank Hale and Mary Elizabeth Hale (Cook); her son Danny Turner; her brothers, Jim Hale, Wayne Hale and Sammy Hale; and her daughter-in-law Shannon McKinney Turner.

She is survived by: her husband Samuel Kenneth Turner (Sam); her children, Teresa Reynolds (Jimmy) of Eden, Debbie Wright of Raleigh, Donna Proctor (Dennis) of Eden, Kenny Turner of Reidsville, James Michael Turner of Eden, Mark Turner (Angela) of Stoneville and John Turner (Melissa) of Raleigh; and her sister Betty Wray. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
