She was predeceased by: her parents, N. G. Hutchens and Bertha V. Hawkins Hutchens; and her sister Shirley Smith. She is survived by: her husband Charles "Gene" Lester; her children, Sherri Clark and Alton Clark of Eden; her stepdaughters, Sherry Lester Stephens (Tim) of Walnut Cove and Cindy Lester Shelton (Joey) of Eden; her grandchildren, Angel Fredericks (Zack) of Ridgeway, VA and Amanda Bolick of Eden; her siblings, Nancy Hamlett of Stoneville, Carol Cooke of Reidsville and Jesse Hutchens of Stoneville; her stepgrandchildren, Erica Stephens of Greensboro, Ashley Stephens of Eden and Colton Shelton of Eden; and her great grandchild Tyler Fredericks. She is also survived by four step-great-grandchildren.
