She is survived by: her husband John "Sonny" Hairston; her children, Collette Penn of Martinsville, Virginia, Emily Jones (Hayward "Tracy") of Martinsville, Virginia and Omar Hairston of Martinsville, Virginia; her grandchildren, Franchone Hairston, Mark Stedmond Hairston, Miranda Jones, O'Mara Hairston and Ebony Martin; her great grandchildren, Ralph, Elijah and Levi; and her sisters, Hazel Spencer of Spencer, Virginia, Mary Jane Spencer of Spencer, Virginia, Patricia Scales (Doug) of Spencer, Virginia and Roxie Scales of Spencer, Virginia. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
