He is survived by: his wife Hope Craig; his stepson Emmanuel Hawks of Cana, VA; his mother-in-law Eunice Zimmerman; his brothers-in-law, Carl Zimmerman (Deborah) of Welcome, NC and Mark Zimmerman (Rae Personett) of Winston-Salem, NC; his uncle John Carter of Eden; and his aunts, Millie Carter of Eden, Doris West and Janice Dishman. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
