He was predeceased by: his parents, Lillian Gray (Robertson) and Stafford "Bud" Gray of Washington; and his siblings, Dorothy Gray King of Norlina, NC, Margaret Ownbey of Bristol, VA and Ben Gray of Martinsville, VA..

He is survived by: his wife Jean Mulchi Gray; his children, Jeff Gray of Thomasville, NC and Dr. Sherri Gray Lewis; his son-in-law Kevin of Ridgeway; his grandchildren, Dustin Marshall, Anna Gray Lewis and Ellie Lewis; and his great grandchildren, Justice Marshall and Kylee Marshall. He is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
