He is survived by: his wife Lois Mayo Sawyer; his children, Mike Sawyer of Templeton, Gary Sawyer of Reidsville, Arthur Sawyer III of Elmira and Tracey Sawyer Tobbe of Athens; and his grandchildren, Felisity Sawyer, John Garth, Bryan Sawyer and Douglas Tobbe. He is also survived by 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
