He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Howard Cotton, Sr. and Margaret Whitfield Cotton; and his brother Robert H. "Bobby" Cotton, Jr.. He is survived by: his sister Suzanne Cotton Councill of Manakin-Sabot, VA; his sister-in-law Anita H. Cotton of Coinjock, NC; his nieces and nephews, Andrea C. Stone, Allison L. Cotton, George Councill Jr., Peter Councill and Samuel E. Cotton; his great-nephew Jay; and his niece Jordan Sample.
