He was predeceased by: his son Timothy James Harrell. He is survived by: his children, Joseph B. Wyche, Sr. (Maisha) and Sandra Wyche; his stepdaughter Darlene Perry (David); his grandsons, Joseph B. Wyche, Jr., Lamont, Andrew and Henry Wyche; his siblings, Vera Artis, Virgia Wyche, Hattie Wyche, Gloria Ricks (Dwight) and Charlie Wadell Wyche (Doris); and his former wife Elnora Wyche Pryor. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
